Society Launches Historical Perspectives

As a dynamic and growing organization with an attentive, knowledgeable and curious public and supporters, we are expanding our focus to a broader set of interests, issues and topics beyond the initial focus of the current Newsletter.

With the publication of Historical Perspectives or Historische Betrachtungen, we are focusing on substantive articles, artistic expression, and research materials that highlight historical and contemporary topics in the arts, the humanities, history and literature, and the social and physical sciences.

This Winter 2020 Journal issue contains interesting articles on:

  • the Christmas Reflections and Museum Open House,
  • the Boeding Family Milano Concertina,
  • Zhuangzi’s Story on Carving the Ox: A Metaphor for Living,
  • Karen Kuennen Guidice’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Expands Chugwater Chili,
  • Native Wildflower Plants in Iowa,
  • An Immigrant’s Service in the Dakota Territory During the Civil War,
