Exploring Germany’s Imperial Rhine.

Russ Baldner will present on the geography of the Rhine River on August 12th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the German American Museum, in St. Lucas.  Russ will interpret the scenic Rhine and illustrate it within the context of historic imperial Germany. Baldner’s presentation features topographic and historical background and an extensive visual and interpretive review of significant cities, sites, and attractions on the Lower and Middle Rhine. Locations include the cities of Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Koblenz, followed by passage through the romantic scenic Rhine Gorge and its remarkable succession of castles, fortresses, and ruins, ending at Bingen.

Russ’s presentation incorporates a broad selection of amazing on-site photography taken by the presenter during several Rhine River sojourns and visits to locations along the Rhine.  Come and enjoy an evening of Rhine River history.  As we informally discuss this excellent presentation, taste some amazing cookies and cool refreshments.
